Mid-Century Cocktail Table Redesign
This table was given both personality and functionality with its very own one of a kind R&WD redesign. The cocktail table was first thoroughly sanded and all of the trim and caning detail was removed from the sides. Next, the caning was replaced with a lovely chevron wood inlay. To add to the functionality of the piece, a drawer was then constructed and a side of the table was removed to become the drawer front. To give the drawer a fun surprise, a vibrant orange paint was applied to the sides and an awesome plaid paper from a local paper company was added to the bottom. The rest of the piece was then painted black, white and gold. Then the inlay was stained to match the top and new black trim pieces were added around the inlay. To tie into the trim, marbling was delicately applied to the legs. Lastly, a mid-century knob was installed and adorned with a lovely handmade tassel, which perfectly ties in the colors of this whimsical piece both inside and out.
