Trendy Tube Jewelry

Posted by on Friday, March 11th, 2016 in Fashion.

When it comes to jewelry I am a bit of a minimalist so I have really been enjoying the recent trend of tube jewelry, especially that of the gold variety. I really like that it is so versatile and adds a glamorous finishing touch while still appearing very simplistic and modern. Another plus to its simplicity is that the pieces can either be worn on their own or layered for a more dramatic effect.

Auric Furniture Accents

Accent tables are a fantastic way to bring some golden lovely into your space. Whether you have a lot of gold in your home or you are just trying to sprinkle a little in, an auric accent table could add just the right amount of whimsy without being too visually overwhelming or hard on your wallet.

These are just a few of the more unique gold tables that I have found in my quest for inspiration. Do you have a favorite gold accent piece in your home, or perhaps a piece you’ve only been dreaming about?

Au : The Use of Gold in Interiors

Posted by on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 in Interior Design.

Gold has been used as an accent in interiors for many, many years, but it hasn’t been until recently that gold is being translated and used in a number of ways. When we think of gold we think of wealth and success, and that feeling is awakened when we encounter the good ole Au. Depending on the color it is presented against, it can transform this metal and evoke different feelings. Here is my take on gold:

Imagined and visualized by Who Cares?! Design, the dark background gives a mysterious aura while the balance of gold throughout keeps us wanting more. Black and gold was the trend a few years ago but it has now been taken over by the combination of gold with white.

This kitchen was done by Nicole Davis Interiors and shows how delicate and minimalist gold can be when paired with white. Oh so fresh and oh so Scandinavian!

With the change in season so goes a change in design. The gold trend is moving towards the use of unexpected colors with the metallic accent. Pastel pink has been especially popular lately and I foresee this transitioning into warmer, darker colors paired with gold. Teal perhaps!

If you are wanting to add gold within your home I recommend starting with a wall or one piece of furniture and letting it spread sporadically from there. Think of it as a ‘dusting’ of gold. This will allow it to balance and stand out among the rest of the space. Pair with your favorite color and feel the richness! Let us know what gold combinations you love in the comments.
