Have a Happy Halloween!

I can’t believe that Halloween is tomorrow, it always seems to sneak up on me! I guess that’s why I always end up dressing up in the same costume year after year. Last year was the first time in a long time that I decided to make a new costume, and it was one for my husband.

George Family Costumes

Brian was super stoked to be Katey Perry from her California Gurls music video. But he didn’t let me take any pictures and refused to go to the door to give kids candy because he felt he would scare them away with his “hairy Perry” costume. Hopefully this year I can sneak some pictures because it’s pretty hilarious and I did a decent job making it. The only modification I am making this year is adding glitter to the shorts and shoes. It’s amazing what you can do with a couple of sponges and some Model Magic!

We also like to dress up the pups for Halloween, and they love greeting all of the kiddos as they come to the door. Rita, our Golden Retriever, is always a banana and Duggan, our German Shepard mix, is always a bumble bee. Eventually, I would like to make or buy them lion manes so they can dress up as Simba and Scar from The Lion King, but that will have to wait because I have again run out of time.

Last but not least, I usually dress up as Alice from the video game American McGee’s Alice. I am 8 months pregnant this year so, unfortunately, I don’t fit into my costume. As a huge Alice in Wonderland fan (pun intended), I love this dark unstable take on the classic. Even if I had the time to make a new costume, I don’t think I would want to be anyone else for Halloween. I’m sure the costume will be resurrected next year and I may even add some fresh blood splatter.

Do you dress up for Halloween? Are you someone different every year or do you have a staple costume? I know Steph always comes up with the best most original costumes. I am looking forward to seeing what she comes up with this time! Let us know what you will be this year in the comments below!
