A rustic home often has bare bones with rough, unfinished wood and beautiful imperfections, giving it the ‘lived in’ quality and comforts of an inviting home. As a camper and lover of the outdoors, I cannot help but feel relaxed in a space like this. I also love the textures that are within rustic designs; wood, stone, fur, leather, and metal to name a few. Most of all it enforces the idea of bringing the outdoors in while featuring the spectacular beauty of nature. What more could you want?!
Peace Design does a wonderful job of creating rustic environments that are sophisticated yet soothing. Founder William Peace has a keen eye for architecture and design that creates a seamless look throughout. These are just some of the projects they have done, and honestly, I adore each and every one of them. Each space makes me want to curl up by the fire with a cozy blanket and hot cocoa. Imagine that!
Stone hearths, reclaimed materials, exposed beams, and large windows with views of the great outdoors are just a few ingredients used by Peace Design to create this look. Some of the designs have more of a refined look to them, adding a sprinkling of rusticity, which is fitting for any home. Which one is your favorite?
Hopefully all of these warmed your soul and inspired you to think of ways to add this trending look within your space. I would love to have a stone fireplace for the cold Michigan winters…oh, and a view of the mountains out my kitchen window. I don’t think I’m asking too much!
